A fatal shooting in Greenville claimed the life of 30-year-old Quandre Jerome Whitner early Saturday morning around 4:45 a.m. on Gates Street.

Greenville police found Whitner suffering from at least one gunshot wound; he was rushed to Prisma Health Memorial Hospital but was pronounced dead there. The coroner’s office ruled it a homicide, with an autopsy scheduled.
Suspect Status
Javon Dendy was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection with the incident. The Greenville Police Department and Coroner’s Office continue investigating, with no further details released.
