North Charleston Police arrested two men on multiple firearm violations during a Friday evening traffic stop in Horizon Village near the Chicora-Cherokee community.

Traffic Stop Details
Just before 6 p.m., an officer pulled over a vehicle for equipment violations and suspicious passenger behavior, detecting marijuana odor that justified a search, yielding a bag of the substance. Driver Zyquan Dametris Coles, 23, of Ladson—a convicted felon—was linked to one handgun; passenger Cortez Major, 18, of Charleston, had a stolen firearm concealed near his crotch (loaded with 18 rounds) plus another in the passenger door (14 rounds).

Charges and Custody
Coles faces possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and unlawful possession of a handgun. Major is charged with possession of a stolen firearm. Both were booked into Al Cannon Detention Center.
