Dorchester County, S.C. – James King Jr., a 64-year-old man from Summerville, was killed in a single-car crash early Tuesday morning near Ridgeville. According to a report from the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office, King was pronounced dead at the scene, located along Givhans Ferry Road, around 5:10 a.m..
Crash Details
King’s vehicle reportedly veered off the left side of the highway and struck several trees at approximately 3:22 a.m.. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office.
Autopsy and Investigation
The autopsy for King will be conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina on Friday at 10:30 a.m. as part of the ongoing investigation.
