NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Multiple flights out of Charleston International Airport were either delayed or canceled Monday morning as a major winter storm slammed much of the northern East Coast.

Flights arriving from and departing to cities such as New York, Philadelphia, and Boston were canceled as the powerful storm dumped several inches of snow in some areas, creating hazardous travel conditions.

As of 7:30 a.m., 22 flights had been canceled and three flights were delayed.

Charleston International Airport recommends that travelers with flights scheduled to areas affected by extreme weather check directly with their airline for the latest information regarding delays or cancellations.
