Crackin Crawfish at 440 E. McCullough Dr. in Charlotte’s University area earned a “B” grade (87%) on a Mecklenburg County Health Department inspection on Feb. 27.
Key Violations
Inspectors found unauthorized house-made yogurt left out overnight without an approved fermentation plan, leading staff to discard it and switch to commercial yogurt. A rodent trap was stored inside a cooking pot, raw lobster sat above unwashed potatoes, and an employee handled nail clippers then resumed food prep without handwashing.
Additional Issues
Other citations included food debris on equipment, employees without hair restraints, employee drinks and nail clippers on prep tables, and undeclared new Indian menu items. This marks the restaurant’s first “B”; most area spots scored “A” that week, with Desi Bites also getting 89.5%.
