Charleston Police Department’s 7th annual Santa Escort Ride took place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, delivering holiday cheer to children in the Lowcountry.
Event Highlights
The tradition, started by the late Chief Luther Reynolds, grew from three cars to over 60 police cruisers joined by agencies from Berkeley County, Charleston County, Summerville, Mount Pleasant, and Moncks Corner. Activities included book deliveries to schools like Meeting Street Academy, Sanders-Clyde Elementary, Buist Academy, and Memminger Elementary, followed by over 300 toys donated to Ronald McDonald House and Fisher House.
Community Impact
Participants like Chito Walker and Sgt. Chris Stinson emphasized the event’s role in blessing families and fostering gratitude during the holidays. Caroline Reynolds, the former chief’s widow, praised the community’s support in bridging agencies for the kids’ joy. The motorcade aimed to remind everyone of the season’s true spirit.
