Berkeley County is hosting a drop-in public meeting for Phase 2 of the U.S. 176 Widening Project to address traffic congestion along this key corridor.

Meeting Details

The event runs Thursday, January 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cane Bay High School cafeteria, 1624 State Road, Summerville. Residents can drop in anytime to review plans, ask questions, and provide feedback to county officials.

Project Scope

This phase widens U.S. 176 from two to four lanes between Nexton Parkway and Jedburg Road, adding turn lanes at major intersections to handle rising traffic from area growth. It’s funded by Berkeley County’s 2022 One Cent Sales Tax Referendum for transportation upgrades.

Virtual Access

Materials and a feedback form are online at US176BerkeleySC.com for those unable to attend in person.
