A lucky tourist visiting South Carolina has won big after purchasing a Powerball ticket worth $150,000. The ticket was bought in May while the winner was vacationing at the beach, with the lucky stop at the Speedway on N. Main Street in Summerville proving to be a life-changer.

While fueling up, the tourist also bought a Powerball ticket for several future draws, including one for the June 21 drawing. After returning to South Carolina in July, the winner cashed in the ticket, which came incredibly close to hitting the Powerball jackpot—missing by just one number.
“It was fantastic,” the winner said, expressing his excitement. “It was like icing on the cake.”
Local Convenience Store Earns Commission
The Speedway convenience store where the ticket was purchased also benefited from the sale. For selling the winning ticket, the store received a $1,500 commission.
