After a domestic argument in North Charleston results in a gunshot, two people are detained.

A married couple in North Charleston, South Carolina, faced arrest following a violent domestic dispute on January 6, 2026, that involved threats and a gunshot with no injuries. Tiesha Monique Brown, 33, and Steven Lamont Lynah Jr., 39, each received charges of domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. Police reports detail Lynah fleeing through a window to his vehicle, Brown pursuing with a cordless drill, and a subsequent struggle over her gun that resulted in one shot fired.

Incident Details

Officers arrived at the 1900 block of Baxter Street around 2:25 a.m. after the altercation. Lynah locked himself in his vehicle to escape, prompting Brown to threaten breaking the window with the drill, which she abandoned on the car. Lynah then retrieved it and advanced toward her, leading her to draw the firearm.

Charges and Detention

Both individuals were booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center. The high and aggravated nature charge reflects the severity involving a weapon and potential for serious harm during the escalation. No further injuries occurred despite the gunfire during their struggle.
