After a car accident in South Carolina, one person died.

Kevin R. Parker, a 46-year-old Aiken resident, died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday on Good Springs Road near Confederate Road. The 2011 Cadillac SUV veered off the road, struck trees, and ejected him; he was pronounced dead at 3:31 a.m. at the scene.

Crash Details

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables reported the incident around 2:27 a.m., with the driver hospitalized for injuries. Parker’s wife, Yolanda Parker, sustained serious injuries and was fighting for her life, per community reports.

Investigation

An autopsy is set for next week in Newberry. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Aiken County Coroner’s Office continue probing the cause.
