A plane crash in Indian Trail injured two people, according to the Union County Sheriff's Office.

Both occupants of a single-engine plane that crashed into a Goose Creek cow pasture Sunday survived with stable conditions, though the passenger initially refused aid despite severe injuries.

Passenger’s Refusal

Kathlyn Rowell was stunned when the ejected passenger, suffering a deep side-to-side gash likely causing a concussion, declined medical help despite his poor state. He was eventually hospitalized alongside the trapped pilot, who needed extrication after the plane lost a wing, wheel, and possibly struck a tree denting his door.

Property Aftermath

Doug Rowell confirmed his inquisitive cows—who surrounded the wreckage unharmed—were fine, calling it rare excitement for the peaceful pasture. FAA and NTSB investigations are underway, but no cause is determined pending victim interviews.
