A Timmonsville man was taken into custody following a shooting Saturday morning in Florence County, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Major Michael Nunn said deputies responded to a report of a shooting with a victim on West Smith Street. The victim was reportedly shot twice and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released updated information about the victim’s condition.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Investigators later arrested Devontae Keyshawn Blakely, 31, in connection with the incident. He faces charges of attempted murder, pointing and presenting a firearm, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to investigators, Blakely allegedly shot the victim twice during a brief interaction inside the victim’s residence. He is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing before a Circuit Court judge.
