Eric Sharone Wilson, a 53-year-old Berkeley County man, was arrested by the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) on February 28, 2026, on eight vehicle fraud charges involving stolen vehicles with altered VINs.

Charges Breakdown

Wilson faces four counts of possession of a vehicle with an altered Vehicle Identification Number, three counts of possession of a stolen vehicle valued at $10,000+, and one count for a stolen vehicle valued $2,000-$10,000. Affidavits allege he tampered with publicly displayed VINs to conceal the vehicles’ true identities, stolen from multiple counties.
