Summerville, South Carolina – A lucky Lowcountry man’s habit of buying lottery tickets while grocery shopping resulted in a $2 million win.
The South Carolina Education Lottery announced that the winner claimed his prize at a Harris Teeter in Summerville using a $20 scratch-off ticket.
It’s not the man’s first lottery win. According to the South Carolina Education Lottery, he won $10,000 more than a decade ago.
He explains what he intends to do with his money: “I’m buying a house,” the winner announced. “I’ve been very lucky.”
The winner of the Double Up! game beat the odds of 1 in 1,080,000. The South Carolina Education Lottery reports that three more $2 million top prizes remain in the game.
The man wasn’t the only one who received a cash prize; Harris Teeter received a $20,000 commission for selling the claimed ticket.
