Florence, South Carolina — A 15-year-old Florence resident is in the custody of the state Department of Juvenile Justice after firing at several vehicles and a building early Saturday morning, police said.
The event occurred in the 100 block of West Evans Street. There were no injuries, according to authorities. Officers were already on the scene removing a gathering from downtown when gunshots rang out and many fled.
Police witnessed the kid conceal a handgun and then flee during a foot pursuit, throwing the weapon. According to authorities, the event began as a verbal disagreement.
