Teenagers charged in Johnsonville The murder of a 16-year-old could be tried as adults

Florence County, South Carolina – According to Deputy Solicitor Todd Tucker, the 12th Circuit Solicitor’s Office is arguing that the 15 and 16-year-olds charged with the death of a fellow Johnsonville juvenile be tried as adults.

“The juveniles are currently in the process of being waived up from family court to general sessions,” Tucker told me.

Both teenagers were released into the custody of their parents.

In June, Trey Wright, 16, was shot and died outside a residence on North First Neck Road in Johnsonville.

As of Wednesday, eight of the nine suspects had been freed on bond or to their parents’ custody.

The alleged triggerman, Devan Raper, 19, is being jailed without bail.

A 10-page police report recounted the shooting.

According to the story, several individuals were gathered around Trey yelling.

The deputy stated that Trey was shot in the chest at close range, and that the officer used a towel to apply pressure to the wound until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived.

According to the report, witnesses on the site observed the shooter escape in a white Mazda “driven by a female, with three male passengers.”

According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, a Conway rape suspect has been apprehended and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Gianna Helene Kistenmacher, 17, of Myrtle Beach, was freed from jail on bond after being charged with shooting in Johnsonville.

Kistenmacher was initially charged with accessory before the fact of a felony in connection with the fatal shooting in Johnsonville, but the charge was later increased to murder, according to officials.

According to investigators, Kistenmacher is accused of bringing Raper to the incident location knowing he was armed and that there would be a confrontation for violence likely to lead to death, based on statements made in her presence.

Hunter Matthew Kendall, 18, Corrinne Elizabeth Belviso, 18, and Sydney Marissa Kearns, 17, all of Myrtle Beach, were charged with murder, according to detention documents.

Court records show that South Carolina Circuit Court Judge Williams Seals imposed bond for Kearns, Belviso, and two others at $20,000 each.

According to police, some of those charged with the crimes recorded portions of the encounter on their cell phones.
