Charleston, South Carolina – A procession commemorating our nation’s veterans will take place in downtown Charleston on Tuesday.
Veterans Day is honored every November 11 to thank veterans for their service and to honor their patriotism, fortitude, and sacrifices.
As part of this celebration, the City of Charleston will stage a Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday afternoon down East Bay Street and Broad Street.
The procession will begin at 1 p.m., with a military flyover.
All roads along the procession route will be blocked to traffic between 12:50 p.m. and 3 p.m. Staging for the procession will begin at 11 a.m. on Concord and Pritchard Streets, and the entire route will close at 12:50 p.m.
“There will be limited access to the South of Broad area during the parade. Officers will be stationed throughout the route to help with traffic flow and neighborhood access, according to Charleston Police officials.
The march will conclude on Broad Street at Colonial Lake, with the entire parade route expected to reopen by 3 p.m.
