The Charleston Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying those responsible for a shooting in West Ashley that left two people injured. The shooting happened in the early hours of July 19, and the police are still investigating the case.
What Happened During the Shooting?
Officers were called to the Ashley Oaks Apartments at around 2:30 a.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found an adult victim outside the apartment complex. They also found a 13-year-old inside a nearby apartment who had been struck by a bullet while playing video games. The young teen was not the intended target and was likely hit by accident.
Both the adult and the 13-year-old were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. They were treated and later released.
