Two people were charged following an investigation into cocaine dealers in Monroe

Two people have been arrested and charged in Monroe, North Carolina, after a narcotics investigation led police to recover more than two ounces of cocaine from a vehicle at the Roadway Inn on Roosevelt Boulevard.

Who was charged

Courtney Daniel Massey, 44, faces charges of trafficking cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of selling a controlled substance. Sharenda Lenne Massey, 43, is charged with trafficking cocaine and felony possession of a controlled substance inside a jail facility.

Details of the case

On April 3, Monroe Police detectives executed a search warrant on a vehicle linked to the suspects at the Roadway Inn, where they found the cocaine. Arrest records show Courtney posted bond of $50,000 and Sharenda posted $75,000.

In a statement, the Monroe Police Department said the case underscores their “proactive enforcement strategy” and warned that anyone dealing drugs in Monroe should expect to be targeted.
