Two local schools gain 2025 'Blue Ribbon' certification

On Wednesday, two Lowcountry schools will be recognized as ‘Blue Ribbon’ schools.

According to the South Carolina Department of Education, the National Blue Ribbon Schools distinction recognizes schools that succeed academically and overcome achievement gaps.

Governor Henry McMaster and State Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver will recognize Charleston County School of the Arts, Cross High School, and four other public and private institutions for obtaining the award.

A ceremony recognizing these schools will take place at the South Carolina Statehouse.

Congratulations to the Charleston County School of the Arts and Cross High School.
