A Charleston family is desperately seeking their 4-year-old Calico cat, Willa, allegedly stolen by food delivery driver Katherine Barnes on January 15th during a drop-off on Church Street. Security footage captured Barnes picking up the pet, placing her in a car, and later discarding Willa’s collar and AirTag on Meeting Street, with the last known trace in Goose Creek.
Incident Details
The Layfields rescued Willa from abandonment on Edisto Beach four years ago; she’s microchipped and vital to their family. Neighbors’ cameras helped identify Barnes, leading to her arrest over the weekend on petit larceny charges by Charleston Police.
