NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — As the Lowcountry experiences intense heat, the Community Resource Center in North Charleston will open a cooling center on Monday to offer relief.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the cooling center at 3947 Whipper Barony Lane will be open to anyone seeking a break from the scorching temperatures. The center provides more than just a place to cool off; it also offers essential services, including groceries, hygiene products, clothing, and more.

Additionally, counselors will be available to assist visitors in accessing social services and provide temporary relief from the heat.

If you’re in need of a break from the heat or require essential supplies, the cooling center is a valuable resource to help support the community during these hot days.
