Spartanburg, South Carolina The Spartanburg Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place Saturday night.
Officers stated they arrived at the Side Traxx convenience shop on Crescent Avenue at 8:23 p.m.
According to police, the store clerk seen a man wearing a red sweatshirt and a black cap enter the store and walk to the bathroom. After a while in the bathroom, the man approached the register and requested a cheap cigar. The suspect then grabbed a big knife and ordered the clerk to give him everything.
According to officials, the clerk told the suspect to take whatever he wanted, and the guy snatched the cash and fled. The suspect was spotted racing across Crescent Avenue toward Prince Hall Apartments, clutching a handful of cash.
Police added that after checking security footage, the suspect was observed interacting with numerous persons outside the store who were in their vehicles before entering the store.
