A Dorchester County woman has been arrested after agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said she applied for a South Carolina driver’s license using a false name.

Lauren Ashley Thrower, 32, of Summerville, is charged with fraudulent application for a South Carolina driver’s license.

Alleged Use of False Identity at DMV

According to charging documents, on March 14, 2025, Thrower allegedly used fraudulent documents and a different name to obtain a license at a South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles location in Charleston County.

Authorities did not release additional details about the nature of the documents used.

Booked and Released on Bond

Thrower was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center. Officials say she has since been released after posting a $5,000 bond.
