Charleston, South Carolina – Charleston police reported Thursday that they had detained a suspect in connection with a Halloween shooting at a downtown Charleston apartment complex that killed one person and injured another.
Zaire Christopher Nelson, 20, of Charleston, faces charges of murder, possession of a firearm while committing a violent crime, high and severe assault and battery, and pointing and exhibiting a firearm.
Officers rushed to the 930 NoMo apartment complex on Morrison Drive at 12:45 a.m. after receiving reports of shooting. When they arrived, they discovered Aiden Gore, 21, dead in the hallway.
