SOUTH CAROLINA— A Bowman man was arrested on cocaine trafficking charges Thursday following a traffic check near Summerville, according to authorities.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office accused David Myers, 50, with trafficking methamphetamine in the amount of 28 to 100 grams.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office C.O.P.E. Team reported seeing a vehicle on Strathmore Road near Jedburg Road driving without headlights and with a faulty brake light. During the traffic check, Myers and his passenger apparently admitted to not having legal driver’s licenses.
Deputies said Myers’ actions during questioning prompted them to summon a K-9 unit. The dog alerted to the vehicle, prompting a probable cause search, which yielded approximately 28.58 grams of methamphetamine.
Myers was booked into Hill-Finklea Detention Center, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
