A man has been arrested following a reported shooting in North Charleston that left a victim shaken but unharmed.
Shooting Reported on Orvid Street
North Charleston police responded around 10 a.m. Thursday to a reported shooting on Orvid Street.
According to authorities, the victim told officers he had been outside barbecuing when a vehicle pulled up nearby.
Suspect Identified by Victim
The victim said he recognized the passenger in the vehicle as someone who had previously threatened him with a gun.
As he turned away, the victim reported hearing a single gunshot. He was not struck, and the vehicle fled the scene.
Suspect Located by Officers
Police units and detectives canvassed the area and quickly located the suspect vehicle on Saint Frances Street.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Deangelo Rashaad Vandross, reportedly told officers there were weapons inside the car.
Weapons and Drugs Recovered
During the investigation, officers recovered two handguns and a large quantity of suspected narcotics from the vehicle.
Charges Filed
Vandross was arrested and faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault and battery, cocaine trafficking, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and six counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Custody Status
He was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center for booking.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
