News 2 is doing an all-day Toys for Tots fundraising event.

News 2 hosted an all-day Toys for Tots toy drive on December 22 at its Mount Pleasant studios to support local children through the U.S. Marines’ annual campaign. The event at 210 W. Coleman Blvd. ran from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., accepting new, unwrapped toys for hand-delivery on Christmas morning.

Event Highlights

Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler led the blitz, featuring Santa Claus, Star Wars characters, Miss America’s Teen, balloon animals, cookies, coffee, and a food truck. A fun rivalry culminated in a Moncks Corner chief taking a pie to the face live on air to announce the police vs. fire departments winner.

Community Role

Donors could drive up or join festivities, ensuring toys reach Lowcountry kids in need amid holiday pressures. This aligns with your interest in regional events, charities, and family services like pediatric care in the Charleston area.
