Marquel Daquan Irving, a 27-year-old from Orangeburg County, faces serious charges stemming from a home invasion and assault in North Charleston on December 29. Police responded to McKnight Drive about 10 minutes after the report, where the victim identified him as her intermittent boyfriend who entered without permission.
Incident Details
The woman awoke to her dog barking and found Irving in her bedroom; he refused to leave, grabbed her phone and keys, then assaulted her by choking and biting her face, causing visible injuries. He took her keys and phone, dropping the keys while fleeing on foot down the street.​
Arrest and Charges
Officers located and arrested Irving shortly after, booking him into the Al Cannon Detention Center on charges of first-degree assault, strong-armed robbery, and first-degree burglary. Recent reports confirm the North Charleston Police Department’s announcement of these charges.
