Gunfire breaks out during a custody handover in the North Charleston neighborhood.

A 23-year-old man from Moncks Corner has been arrested following a shooting investigation in the Lakes at Northwoods neighborhood, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Officers responded shortly before 7 p.m. Monday to the area of Lake Marion Drive and Yadkin Circle. Upon arrival, they observed property damage to several vehicles and apartment units caused by gunfire. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Dispute Began During Custody Exchange

Investigators determined the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. According to law enforcement, what began as a custody exchange escalated into a physical altercation and ultimately led to gunfire between the individuals involved.

Suspect Faces Multiple Charges

Terrell Bryant Taylor Jr. was arrested shortly after the incident. He is charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, unlawful conduct toward a child, and discharging a firearm into a dwelling.

Taylor was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.
