A late-night traffic stop in North Charleston turned into a brief chase that ended with a convicted felon being arrested after police say he was caught carrying multiple stolen guns.

Felon Arrested After Chase in North Charleston

According to the North Charleston Police Department, an officer pulled over a vehicle just after 11 p.m. Saturday near Ashley Phosphate Road and Northside Drive because it was driving without headlights.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old D’Zorion Da’Quase Davis, sped away, leading police on a short pursuit before he was taken into custody.

Three Guns, Stolen Weapons Found

Police said Davis was carrying a bag containing:

Three firearms

Two of the guns reported stolen

Ammunition, which he is legally barred from possessing as a convicted felon

Davis is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition,” police officials confirmed.

Charges Filed Against Davis

Davis is facing several charges, including:

Possession of a stolen handgun by a convicted violent felon

Unlawful carry of a firearm

Failure to stop for blue lights

He was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center, where he remains as of the latest update.
