North Charleston, South Carolina – North Charleston police detained a guy during a traffic stop on Thursday morning after discovering a stolen pistol in the vehicle.
Cordell Walston-Stone, 18, was detained and charged with receiving stolen goods, driving uninsured, and failing to present a driving licence, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
Officers were patrolling near hotels at 2:15 a.m. when a car with faulty tag lights drove out in front of them. When cops pulled Walston-Stone over, they detected the odour of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
Officers searched the vehicle based on probable cause and discovered a firearm wedged between the driver’s seat and the centre console.
The firearm was reported stolen in another jurisdiction after being checked with the National Crime Information Centre.
Walston-Stone was booked at the Al Cannon Detention Centre.
