NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A convicted felon, Prince Brown, 44, was arrested Tuesday after being stopped by the North Charleston Police Department for a window tint violation. The traffic stop, which took place near Desoto and Expedition Drive, led to a series of charges against Brown, including drug possession and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Incident Details
During the stop, officers asked Brown to exit his vehicle, at which point loose pills were seen falling from his lap. Brown claimed the pills were Adderall and came from an unmarked prescription bottle. This prompted further investigation by police.
With the assistance of a K-9 Unit, officers conducted a search of the vehicle. The search uncovered over 470 grams of marijuana and a pistol. As a convicted felon, Brown is prohibited from possessing a firearm, making the discovery of the gun particularly significant.

Brown now faces multiple charges, including:
Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance
Unlawful possession of a firearm by a person previously convicted of a violent offense
Unlawful possession of a firearm by a person previously convicted of a drug trafficking offense

Following his arrest, Brown was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center, where he is currently being held. The police continue to investigate the case, and Brown’s past criminal history will likely play a significant role in the legal proceedings.
