North Charleston, SC – In honor of National Senior Citizen Day, the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) and TriCounty Link are offering free bus rides to seniors aged 55 and older throughout the Lowcountry on August 21, 2025.
This event is part of a series of initiatives to recognize senior citizens, with CARTA and TriCounty Link providing ongoing opportunities for seniors to travel for free in 2025.
How to Take Advantage of the Offer
Seniors wishing to take advantage of the free ride are simply required to show a valid photo ID when boarding the bus.
About TriCounty Link and CARTA
The TriCounty Link system operates nine regular fixed routes and six commuter routes, serving rural residents in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. The schedules and routes for TriCounty Link can be found on their official website.
CARTA also offers a network of routes across the Lowcountry, and maps and schedules for CARTA routes can be accessed on their website.
