Lowcountry Land Trust received a $1 million donation from Boeing on February 11, 2026, to advance the 44-acre Angel Oak Preserve on Johns Island, S.C., centered on the iconic Angel Oak tree.​
Project Overview
The $16.5 million initiative, with $6.9 million raised so far including Boeing’s prior $100,000 gift, will create an immersive park, living museum, and conservation site offering education, interpretation, and recreation. The preserve gained 2025 national recognition as a community forest and a National Register of Historic Places nomination.​
