CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Ashley River Bridge, which connects West Ashley to downtown Charleston, is closed in one direction as of Sunday afternoon due to a maintenance issue. The Charleston Police Department has confirmed that the bridge is closed to traffic traveling from downtown Charleston into West Ashley.
Crews are currently on-site and working to resolve the issue, but motorists are being advised to expect significant delays while the maintenance work is ongoing. Drivers are urged to plan alternative routes and allow extra time for travel.
