North Charleston police arrested 22-year-old Juan Carlos Velasquez following a road rage incident on Rivers Avenue that involved a handgun threat and led to the discovery of drugs.​
Incident Details
Victims reported being targeted by black exhaust from Velasquez’s truck at Rivers and Aviation Avenues, then allegedly having a gun pointed at them when they caught up. Officers located him in a nearby parking lot around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, taking him into custody without resistance.​
Evidence Recovered
A loaded handgun, fentanyl, and heroin were found during the search. These items supported charges including trafficking fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute heroin.​
Charges Filed
Velasquez faces two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, plus possession of a firearm during a violent crime. He was booked into Al Cannon Detention Center.​
