North Charleston police arrested 22-year-old Juan Carlos Velasquez following a road rage incident on Rivers Avenue that involved a handgun threat and led to the discovery of drugs.
Incident Details
Victims reported being targeted by black exhaust from Velasquez’s truck at Rivers and Aviation Avenues, then allegedly having a gun pointed at them when they caught up. Officers located him in a nearby parking lot around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, taking him into custody without resistance.
Evidence Recovered
A loaded handgun, fentanyl, and heroin were found during the search. These items supported charges including trafficking fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute heroin.
Charges Filed
Velasquez faces two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, plus possession of a firearm during a violent crime. He was booked into Al Cannon Detention Center.
