A man from Moncks Corner has been arrested in an AI-generated case of child exploitation.

A Moncks Corner man has been arrested following a child exploitation investigation involving artificial intelligence-generated material, according to Alan Wilson. Julian Samuel Turner, 31, was taken into custody on February 9, 2026, and is facing three felony charges related to the alleged possession of sexually explicit material depicting minors.

Investigation Stemmed from CyberTip

The investigation began after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children submitted a CyberTipline report to authorities. Investigators with South Carolina’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force say the tip led them to Turner. Officials allege he possessed files containing artificial intelligence-generated child sexual abuse material, though additional details about the files were not released.

Multiple Agencies Involved; Case to Be Prosecuted by AG’s Office

Turner is charged with three counts of possession of a visual depiction or representation of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, activity, or nudity. Under South Carolina law, each count is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. The investigation included the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, the Moncks Corner Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations, all members of the state’s ICAC Task Force. The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case. Officials emphasize that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
