Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ronald Lee Bowers II, 37, of Ladson, after a high-speed pursuit spanning multiple counties on Tuesday. The chase began on Highway 78 with Charleston County deputies and continued into Berkeley County, ending when stop sticks disabled his stolen vehicle, which was forced into a ditch.
Charges Filed
Bowers faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle (confirmed stolen from North Charleston), failure to stop for blue lights and sirens (second offense, following a January 2024 conviction), driving under suspension, operating uninsured, reckless driving, expired registration, and a seat belt violation.
Pursuit Details
Deputies coordinated to contain the vehicle, deploying tire deflation devices multiple times before using a PIT maneuver to stop it. He was booked into Hill-Finklea Detention Center, as confirmed by Sheriff’s spokesperson Carli Carr.
