North Charleston, South Carolina – A guy was arrested at a South Carolina airport after reportedly making “terroristic” threats aboard an airliner this weekend.

According to sister station WCSC, the man, 27-year-old Chad Andrew Svatosky, was arrested at Charleston International Airport on Sunday, October 26.

According to WCSC, the JetBlue flight crew claimed Svatosky told them that “everybody needed to grab their pitchforks and torches because the plane was going to get lit up” before boarding. The station further stated that passengers overheard him indicate he had a bomb.

Despite the allegations, WCSC stated that Svatosky, who lives in Massachusetts, denied stating anything about a bomb and instead referred to rioting in Chicago.

A video obtained by WCSC showed a shackled Svatosky being led by police through the Charleston airport.

According to Charleston County documents, Svatosky was charged with threatening or attempting to use mass destruction in an act of terrorism. His bond was $100,000, and he was released from jail on October 29.

WCSC quoted the airport’s executive vice president in its report.
