A Berkeley County woman has been charged with lottery fraud.

A 23-year-old Berkeley County woman, Victoria Grace Barnes, faces multiple felony charges for allegedly cashing stolen lottery tickets at a Summerville Food Lion. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigated after the SC Education Lottery requested help, tying the crime to her job at Carolina Spirits.

Charges and Incident

Barnes was charged March 23 with two counts of intent to defraud via counterfeit tickets and breach of trust over $2,000 but under $10,000.
Between February 6-13, she reportedly passed stolen tickets from her workplace, caught on surveillance and identified by store staff.

South Carolina felony penalties include up to 5 years in prison and $50,000 fines per count.
Booked at Dorchester County Detention Center, her case goes to the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office for prosecution.
