A 70-year-old man died in a crash on Wadmalaw Island, according to the coroner

Charleston County Coroner identified 70-year-old RR McKevlin from Charleston as the man killed in a single-vehicle crash on Wadmalaw Island’s Black Bears Bluff Road on December 1, 2025. Deputies responded just after 6 p.m. to reports of a vehicle veering off the road and striking a tree; McKevlin, the sole occupant, died at the scene around 6:45 p.m. from crash injuries.​
