Woman faces cocaine accusations after fleeing a North Charleston stop.

Monica McGaskin, 52, of North Charleston, S.C., was arrested on February 10, 2026, for failure to stop for blue lights and possession of cocaine after a police chase.

Pursuit Details

North Charleston Police initiated a traffic stop around 5:45 p.m. on Dorchester Road for an expired temporary tag at Olivia Drive, but McGaskin accelerated on the wrong side of the road, ran red lights and stop signs, made illegal U-turns, and drove through medians before the officer lost sight in a parking lot.

Arrest and Evidence

She was later detained at a traffic collision on Ashley Phosphate Road; a vehicle search revealed white powder residue on the driver’s seat, torn baggies in the door and console, and a rolled dollar bill—all presumptive positive for cocaine via field test.

Charges and Status

McGaskin was booked into Al Cannon Detention Center on the two charges; no court date was specified in reports.
