A brother and sister, Latesha Johnson (45) and Deontay Miller (33), were arrested Thursday morning after a violent domestic dispute on Allwood Avenue in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Incident Overview
North Charleston Police responded around 10:15 a.m. to reports of the siblings fighting, with a follow-up call alleging Miller pointed a gun at Johnson, causing her to fear for her life. Johnson claimed Miller choked her first, prompting her to throw hot water from a stove pot at him and grab a knife, which he then took away. Miller denied threatening her, saying the gun simply fell during the struggle.
Injuries and Evidence
Both showed visible injuries: Miller had a cut hand and bite mark on his wrist, while Johnson had scrapes and bruises on her face, neck, and shoulders. Officers recovered a knife and firearm at the scene but couldn’t confirm if the gun was fired.
Charges and Outcome
Each faces a second-degree assault charge, with police unable to identify a primary aggressor. They were booked into a local detention center.
