Charleston County, South Carolina — Two suspects were detained on Friday after leading deputies from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office on a chase that reached speeds of more than 80 mph, according to a local incident report.
Savannah Ard, 19, is charged with failure to stop for blue lights and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to jail records. Meanwhile, Zavion Woodward, 23, has been charged with possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute and possessing a handgun as a convicted felon.
The accusations arise from a Friday, Sept. 19, incident in which a deputy from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a grey Nissan Altima for going 75 mph in a 55 mph zone near Highway 17 and Highway 41.
According to a police report, the Nissan driver attempted to pull over at a Circle K gas station on Highway 17 and North Pickney Street.

The chase ended when the automobile attempted a right turn onto Thomas Pinckney Drive and collided with a brick structure. Two males and one women jumped out of the automobile. Both individuals attempted to leave on foot but were ultimately apprehended.
