The shooting occurred on Azalea Drive, where officers were called around 8:12 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found the young victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The injured boy was rushed to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where he was pronounced dead at 9:21 p.m., as confirmed by Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.
