Charleston County, South Carolina – A Ladson-based defense manufacturing company is investing $67 million in its Charleston County operations, creating more than 100 jobs.

Keel revealed Thursday that the investment will result in 170 new employment at its Yonges Island shipyard.

The defense company primarily manufactures advanced submarine modules and components, aircraft carrier components, and more complicated structures for the United States Navy and defense industry.

The expansion location, at 4194 Highway 165 near Meggett, will include a cutting-edge prep and paint facility to support construction for Navy submarines and aircraft carriers.
