A South Carolina woman was tragically killed in a shooting Monday afternoon in Berkeley County. The victim, 38-year-old Angel Capers, was found dead at the scene.
The Incident
At around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of Grand View Crossing in the Cane Bay area of Summerville. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reported a significant law enforcement presence in the area, and the coroner was called to the scene about an hour later, at 4 p.m.
Cause of Death
Capers, a Summerville resident, died from a gunshot wound at the scene. According to the coroner’s office, no other injuries were reported.
Investigation
At this time, authorities have not released any information about the shooter or shooters involved in the incident. No arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
