Summerville bar owner accused of inciting children for planned school walkout.

Dinah Marie Chollet, a 44-year-old Summerville business owner of The Knot Burger Pub, was arrested by Summerville Police on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. This followed her alleged involvement in an Instagram group chat called “Summerville Walkout,” organized by Summerville High School students for an anti-ICE protest planned on February 20, 2026. An anonymous student tipped off a school resource officer, who monitored the public chat with about 80 members aged 14-18.

Protest Details and Threats

Students planned to disrupt school by walking out, with discussions turning aggressive: anti-police remarks, threats of pepper spray or concealed weapons for “protection,” vandalism, and calls for harm against President Trump. The officer reported these to an FBI Task Force Officer and superiors. Chollet joined under “theknotburgerpub” (later switching to her personal “Dinah Yo” account), praising the students, saying she was proud, and indicating her group would join them.

Police Response and Outcome

Chollet was identified via DMV records and observed encouraging truancy, disruption, and threats, violating South Carolina’s contributing to delinquency statute. She was booked into Dorchester County Detention Center and released after posting bond; her next court date is April 14, 2026. School officials are pursuing separate charges against students for weapons threats on campus, and the protest was not endorsed by administrators, who warned of discipline.
