Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina The Town of Sullivan’s Island is taking steps to better prepare for potential flooding.
On Friday morning, the town council and community officials will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the drainage improvement project.
According to town officials, the project aims to reduce flooding and improve the island’s existing stormwater management system.
The project aims to upgrade major underground pipes and improve drainage outfalls at Stations 28 ½ and 31.
The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on the corner of Jasper Boulevard and Station 28 ½.
